Glossary of 4x4 and Offroad Terms

Welcome to our glossary. Below are definitions of words and acronyms commonly used in the 4x4 and offroad world.

• Recovery - recovering an off-road vehicle that has become stuck
• Snorkel - an aftermarket extension of a vehicles engine air intake that allows it to rise above water when fording streams and dust from dirt roads.
• Cat/Cats - Catalytic converter(s)
• Cat Back - Portion of the exhaust after the catalytic converters
