Austin North Saturday Night Meetup Moves

Saturday, Nov 06, 2010

Austin FBody Meetup NorthIn a case of one or two rotten apples spoiling it for the bunch, the Saturday night meetup in North Austin at the shopping center at 1431 and 183a has been booted out and is searching for a home. Loosely associated with the Austin FBody club, the meetup had the permission of the center until somebody started doing burnouts and that was the end. Many of the cars are now gathering at the Big Lots shopping center just down the street at 1431 and 183. Luckily it's right next to Schlotsky's.

I have spent the last year and a half documenting the cars that have come and gone each weekend at this meetup and though there are always lots of Mustangs and Vettes, some pretty surprising cars have shown up. Cups and Coffee Car Show brings out the Lotus crowd.

Monday, Nov 01, 2010

Leander Texas monthly car show continues to grow, and a good part of that can be attributed to the strong sponsorship of John Eagle European, a North Austin exotic car dealership that can always be counted on to bring a couple Lotus sports cars and an Aston Martin or two, but the October show on Halloween seemed to draw a much larger number of Lotus owners than usual.

Though not limited to European cars, there were plenty in attendance including cool supercars like Ferarris, Lamborghinis, DeThomasos, as well as Porsches, BMWs, and even a VW Camper or two. The next Cups and Coffee Car show will be from 11:00 am until 2:00pm November 28th in downtown Leander, Texas. To check out pics see our
